Amazing Carpet Stain Remover

Some nights are easy and uneventful, then others are just well more eventful. Like a few nights ago, I made dinner and a new post then was having trouble getting to sleep. My big puppy (all of 17 lbs.) was being very clingy wanting me to cuddle and pet him the whole time. Well somewhere around 12:30 am while I’m watching “You are NOT the Father!” Lou decided his tummy ache was too much. After several cleaning up several more spots and taking the cover off the comforter, I called it a night. Mind you Mr. RWB didn’t wake up, even when I was pulling the duvet off the comforter he was sleeping under…

The next morning I woke up to multiple red stains that the Resolve didn’t touch. So what’s a girl who likes everything in it’s place to do? Research red stain removal techniques of course! During my search, I came across a post by One Good Thing by Jillee that seemed simple enough.

Initial Stain

I was a bit skeptical but was willing to give it a shot. So I gathered the supplies: water, ammonia, paper towels, clean towel and an iron. Let  me just saw I was really impressed with how well this method works.

1. Mix 2/3 cup of water with 1/3 cup of ammonia (don’t breathe in when mixing, it stinks!)

2. Heat iron to a setting that will produce steam.

3. Dab a small amount of solution to carpet being careful not to saturate.

4. Place clean towel over spot and iron for 10 – 15 seconds using some pressure. Don’t go longer or it could melt the carpet. Carpet cleaner ironThe towel will pick up the color.Stain towel

5. Continue adding small amounts of solution and ironing until stain is completely removed (3 – 5 times).carpet finish
