It’s almost turkey time! Looking for something that’s fun, tasty and absolutely adorable? (As seen on My FOX Austin’s Make it Monday)
Well I have just the thing! This cute turkey is hands on for the kids, healthy and tasty. Good for an activity as well as a centerpiece.
The turkey body is made from a pie pumpkin. The top is cut off, insides scooped out and filled with a glass ice cream dish. The turkey head is a cutout from a Thanksgiving centerpiece. To make it easier for little hands, use an ice pick to pre-cut the wholes for the wooden skewers.
To make the skewers, have pre-cut fruit and veggies ready and thread on bamboo skewers. Baby corn, grape tomatoes and olives are fun additions.
The pumpkin dip is simple as well.
Yogurt Pumpkin Dip
1/2 can of pumpkin
1/2 cup of yogurt (used plain)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 – 2 tsp. honey
Sprinkle of nutmeg, cloves and ginger
Stir together and adjust sweetness to taste.
Put the dip in the bowl and enjoy!
